I know, I know. I talk about Smash a lot around here. Like, a LOT. Unfortunately, I put so much effort into covering updates lately, that I’ve been neglecting other games that deserve ALL of your attention.
The game you should expect to hear more about around here is no surprise - Super Mario Galaxy.
I’ll save the list of reasons this game is awesome for some other time - or rather just show you why by sticking to the news. All kinds of trailers and tidbits have been hitting the web over the past couples weeks as the release of this legendary game inches closer. Here’s what’s been going on lately.
- Here’s the video you can expect to see in retailers nation wide (If they ever manage to turn their Wii kiosks on - Am I the only one that’s noticed this?) See more videos here.
- Galaxy is proving to be all the things that have made previous Mario titles awesome in one game. The re-inclusion of Super Mario Bros. 3-esque powerups is just one of many steps in the right direction - and now we know what 6 of them are:
- Bee Suit (Limited flight)
- Boo Suit (Floating through walls/Camouflage amongst the boos)
- Fire Suit (Throw fire balls)
- Rainbow Suit (Invincibility)
- Spring Suit (Jump higher)
- Ice Suit (Walk on water)

- It’s been confirmed - people that have preordered Galaxy will be rewarded with this lovely collector’s coin when they pick up their copies:
- In other, still Mario-related news: motorcycles have been confirmed for MarioKart Wii. This concerns a lot of people - can it be called MarioKart anymore? I’ll shrug it off and say yes. What I’m raising an eyebrow about is the inclusion of mid-air stunts. It should be interesting.
